Trial lesson
Is a trial lesson always free?
No, a trial lesson costs €50 for 60 minutes. However, if you purchase a lesson package the trial lesson will be free.
Why a trial lesson?
During a trial lesson you get to know the driving instructor, the car and our teaching method.
What does a trial lesson look like?
During the 60 minute trial lesson the driving instructor will pick you up at a location of your choice. This could be your home, work or school. After a short introduction and explanation you’ll take the driver’s seat. With guidance you’ll drive to a quiet area so you can get used to the car comfortably. At the end of the trial lesson you’ll receive an estimate of how many lessons you’ll need and which lesson package suits you best.
Where does driving school amigos offer lessons?
Driving School Amigos offers lessons in Leiden, Oegstgeest, Leiderdorp, Voorschoten, Zoeterwoude, Warmond, Valkenburg, Rijnsburg, Katwijk, Noordwijk, Noordwijkerhout, Voorhout, Sassenheim, Teylingen, Lisse, Roelofarendsveen and Wassenaar.

Driving lessons
How long does a driving lesson last?
A driving lesson lasts at least 60 minutes. In consultation with your driving instructor you can schedule lessons of 60, 90 or 120 minutes.
How many driving lessons do I need?
On average about 42 hours of lessons are needed to obtain your license (according to a 2025 study by the CBR among driving test candidates). However, this varies per person as everyone learns at a different style. You may need additional lessons beyond your chosen package. In that case you can purchase a bundle as an add-on. During your trial lesson you’ll get an estimate of how many hours you may need. Bought more hours than you ended up using? We will refund the unused lessons
Can I also take driving lessons in the evenings or at weekends?
Yes, that’s possible. We will schedule lesson times that suit you the best including evenings and weekends.
Can I take driving lessons multiple times a week?
Yes, this is definitely possible in consultation with your driving instructor.
Can I agree on a fixed day and time for driving lessons?
Yes, this is definitely possible in consultation with your driving instructor.
Will I get a permanent driving instructor and car?
Yes. The driving instructor from your trial lesson will be your regular driving instructor and you’ll use the same car for your lessons and practical exam.
Do you also offer accelerated driving courses?
Yes, we offer accelerated driving courses that allows you to get your license within 4 to 8 weeks. You must have a valid theory certificate and must have paid for the full lesson package.
Packages
Do I need to purchase a package?
No, you can also take single lessons. However, if you choose a package you’ll benefit from a lower hourly rate. Got your license before using all of your lesson? We’ll calculate the difference and refund the remaining amount.
How long is my package valid?
A lesson package is valid for 1.5 years. In practice, most students obtain their driver’s license well within that time.
What if I have lessons left over from a package?
If you get your license while still having lessons left we’ll refund the unused hours.
Payments
What payment options are available?
After selecting a lesson package, you will receive an invoice by email and in our student app.
You can pay with iDeal, bank transfer, or cash
Do I have to pay for my package in one go?
You can pay the package all at once but it’s also possible to pay in installments. Feel free to contact us to discuss the payment options.
